Brian Jackson
Brian Jackson, coffee trainer 23rd street Joe, Waverly, was compelled from the womb, several hours after the eruption of Mount St. Helens, to a cozy home in the temperate Pacific Northwest port city of Seattle. As soon as he could peer over the stovetop, Brian prepared single origin coffee one cup at a time for his dad. While apprenticing under David Shomer and the adroit baristi of Espresso Vivace with Kees Van Der Westen’s semi-automatic Mistral, Brian’s skills and appreciation for the culinary art that is espresso were elevated. When he’s not packing with 40 pounds and polishing with 5 pounds, you can find him silkscreening anything from sweaters to mirrors or collecting and taking photographs that reflect abandoned environments, Americana, the human psyche, or an occasional unicorn.
